Front Strut mounts?

Getting ready to replace my front struts. Is it advisable to also replace the strut mounts? Car only has 80K miles on odometer...

I think the view is at that age, mileage given the faff of doing it seperately..yes..
 
Yes one of my cars was worn at 80k, don't cost much.
At first i thought it was wheel bearing wear, so they got replaced first before i discover it was the top mount.
 
I would change them just doing my shocks at the moment. Give your pinch bolts a good soak before you do the job. Just had my drivers side bolt snap. What a ball ache that is. best of luck.

What kind of noise was it making? I ask because I have all kinds of noises. Even on a newly surfaced road, in neutral coasting, it makes noise. Apply brakes and I get different noises. I can't identify if it's wheel bearing, because turning in either direction the noise is the same.

Reminds me of a mk3 VW I had. Turned out all the wheel bearings were worn and control arm bushings on both sides.

Did you use a spindle spreader to get it out?
 
I think on Monday I'm going to pull the front wheels and do triage. I'm ordering the Chinese replacement adaptive shocks and Meyle strut mounts. Contemplating doing the wheel bearing at the same time.

No noise the wheel rocked in the vertical plane.
Thought it was bearing wear so replaced wheel bearing and made no difference.
