Front storage issue (Cigarette)

Hi

Got a Z4 2012 and yesterday the compartment with the cigarette lighter got stuck tried to open it now it doesn’t stay down. I have looked and can’t see a way to take out or what the issue is.

Is there a link or guide to this?

Check this link. I posted a pic of the small metal clip that can be out of place and cause what you have described.
The pic is from the underside of the ashtray and the centre console must be removed to access this.
