Front spoiler fang protectors...

Hi all,

I'm thinking of approaching a local engineering firm with a view to getting some metal skid plates made up to protect the //M's front spoiler "fangs" from kerbs, speed bumps and driveway scrapes (my issue is with a steep drive).

I'm not too sure of the price yet, as I'm waiting on replies but I'll be making sure they're rust resistant and will use existing holes under the car.

Is anyone interested in such things? :poke:

Doesn't the company RPI offer these?

It appears they do, but with the current £/$ rate, shipping costs, duty and VAT, they work out pretty expensive landed over here. :(

I've been on the lookout for carbon ones in the e46 CSL style. My car's lowered and catching the front is a constant hazard.

It seems RPI do sell them.. There are some pics on Zpost here: http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108101&highlight=filter

It's a shame no-one makes the CSL style carbon fangs or something similar to the Z3M Schnitzer flippers.

Ah well, limited interest.

Never mind, thought it would have been of interest. Maybe I'll take a look at the ones Ed mentioned... :tumbleweed:

The RPI skid plates work GREAT!

Does RPI have a UK distributor? I can call Eloy and find out if there's a cost-effective way for him to get his product across the pond.

When I have a replacement for my Z4M, I'll have a set too. The ramp to the garage is just a bit too steep... As a matter of fact, I'll get them even without Z4M, to put them on when I get the replacement.

i just bought and fitted a set of these from CA Automotive thought they were good value at £74 delivered next day they fit the existing holes and have saved my fang once already as the pavement outside my house has subsided badly heres the link --

Hello everyone I can get these plates made identical to the ones supplied at CA Automotive!
1.5 mm thick, 316 stainless steel painted in gloss black (to suit colour underneath) or left polished
or mirror finish. I too have a z4 m roadster carbon black and have scraped the fangs a few times!
So will be fitting these plates on mine car aswell! :D
