Front spoiler air scoops

Has anyone had issues with these coming loose? I have had both cause me problems, had one replaced and now the other one is loose. Doesn’t seem simple to work out how they are actually supposed to clip in at the front, the back bit is more obvious, although not 100% but has anyone had experience of fixing these or replacing them?

You mean the brake ducts?

There is two pins on the top of each that locate on hangers above each duct.

Yes brake ducts, and thanks. But do they come off a lot? I’m trying to work out if there is something else broken or it’s just wear and tear?

They are commonly snapped off when the bumper is removed for a respray. Presumably by the same people that break the side tabs and spray washer fluid all over the place.

Sounds like the voice of bitter experience. :( Happily mine came back attached and nicely painted. :)

That explains it then, just had the bumper re-sprayed. I’m guessing that they have to be unclipped before you take the bumper off as they’re attached to another part of the car...? i.e. those hangers?

Not sure how that happens as they are not attached to the bumper.

So how are they attached? They seem to clip into the wheel arch, and if there are those hangers there, but they also seem to hook into the bumper at the front. So it you pull the bumper away it makes sense that they would catch at least and snap the body clips in the wheel arch?

srhutch is right, they aren’t physically attached to the bumper. It’ll either be when pulling the wheel arch liner away from the metal or when the bumper drops down after unclipping, which will push downwards on the front of the ducts. The plastic pins that clip into the metal bracket are pretty flimsy.
