Front splitter and sump undertray

Hello all,

Does anyone know (in the UK) how much the plastic splitter and sump aerodynamic undertray cost?

Mine were scraped before I bought the car and would like to replace within reason of course.

I know the undertray is designed to protect the sump etc, with it being scraped would this have caused much damage?

I'm not sure how much the parts cost but you could look up the part numbers yourself here http://www.realoem.com/bmw/ and phone your dealer for pricing. If the undertray was just scraped over a speed bump or somthing similar I doubt whether the sump would be damaged but if it was a major impact there's a possibility. It might be worth a look to put your mind at rest.
 
No idea of costs. You might locate the part on RealOEM then at least double the prices it shows for UK. 5 minute call to the stealer will have that one answered.

Not sure what you mean by the 'plastic splitter'. Do you mean the lower leading edge of the front bumper cover or do you have a separate splitter fitted?

In terms of protecting the sump the undertray could not do much towards that. All it will be doing is smoothing airflow underneath the car and partially increasing the rigidity of the lower lip of the front bumper cover. The only way you can tell if there is damage to components above it is to remove it and visually inspect.

All those I've seen are generally well battered with crossing low kerbs
 
Undertray part number is here http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=BU52&mospid=49303&btnr=51_4957&hg=51&fg=80 and is the splitter part of the bumper itself, not sure?

TBH I don't think I would replace them, theres every chance you'll scrape them again, especially the front, and you can't really see it unless you look underneath anyway.

Anyway, from the looks of these, it'll be probably £160-180 for the parts, I think :thumbsup:
