Front Roof Latches

Hi all, what's the best grease for lubricating the latches over my windscreen. It's a 2004 E85. Although it was closing and locking okay it seemed to stick and need a push to open. I have cleaned them with some WD40 silicon spray and this is now a lot better but it seems a bit dry and thought in needed of some type of grease.

I must admit I just put a thin smear of vaseline on them.
