Front + Rear Suspension Parts

Hi all!

I am waiting on a full set of Bilstein B4s and Suplex springs and have also bought new bump stops and dust covers for all 4 corners.

I was thinking it might be a good idea at the same time to replace the top mounts on all 4 corners (since I am doing so much already and one of the fronts looks to be cracking slightly).

Can anyone give me advice on which top mounts to go for? What part numbers do I need?

Finally, does anyone have any recommendations for anything that should be changed at the same time? (I will be doing bushes some time soon).
 
I would (and did) replace the top mounts.
At the rear you can fit the upgraded Meyle HD units, and the reinforcement plates at the same time.
The spring pads probably could do with being replaced too as they wear - but they aren't very cheap.

I'd also suggest getting some new nuts / bolts where you can - the pinch bolt is the obvious choice but things like top mount / drop link nuts are standard sizes and only a couple of quid off eBay.

Meyle rears are known to knock, I went with Lemforder (believe they are OEM).

Bushes:
Front wishbone rear (lollipops)
Rear trailing arm front bush

You might want to buy a specific removal tool for the RTAB.
 
Thanks for your help so far guys! Short continuation on this thread as I am about to finish buying the final few parts to do this job...

Rear reinforcement plates, where can I source these? And I figure they go on top of the suspension tower, ie the last piece on the top before the nuts?

Are these rear reinforcement plates necessary? Is there any evidence of deformation to the rear turrets?
 
Thanks for the links guys. Ended up with some similar to [ref]Jakg[/ref], but a little cheaper.

In terms of whether they are necessary... I have not seen any deformation or "ballooning" of the rear shock towers, but I thought £13 for a pair while changing the top mounts I'd be silly not to!
 
I would put rears in at the top, but the fronts put them in underneath. I think from general consensus, everyone does it that way :)

Oh really? I would never have thought to put the rears in underneath? Are you sure the profile of the reinforcement plate matches that of the underside of the strut tower? These are the ones I bought:

I just re-read the description on the eBay item and it says they are to be installed on the underside. Thanks again [ref]kis[/ref]!
 
The front ones are definity installed underneath :)
The rear ones :? not 100% sure, but most people put them in on the top.
 
The rear plates have the same profile as the top mount - if the strut top could come through the chassis, I don't see how the re-inforcement plate would help from underneath.

The front plates have a larger profile so I can see how that'd help underneath.
