Front Panel Replacment - How much?

Blending into the door is a must but not necessary on the wing; it has a very flat, straight surface so I doubt you would need to blend that for a match unless they were spraying with the completely wrong colour...? My friends Z4 with similar damage was blended into the door but not the bonnet.

Well Accident Exchange a 3rd party are handling the repair as it wasn't my fault and I have to say they are very good.

I phoned the dealership at 8:30 who refered my details across to them (they get a kick back for the referal).
By 10:00 I had been contacted and arranged a 3:00pm delivery of a 325 M-Sport Coupe. Normally they replace like for like but the 2 Z4's they have were out.

Don't beat on me here.. and don't tell my Z.. but this new 3 series is phenominal!
Black, cream leather, tipronic, sat nav, all the usual m-sport goodies, motorised seat belts for lazy boys who can't reach round fully.. the list is endless... the only thing I would change would be an engine size upgrade. A car this size feels like it needs a 3.0 litre lump. (Then again I just got out of a Z4)

I drove the length of the country tonight ready for work tomorrow and with the usual stigma of BMW 3 drivers starting to migrate over to our Audi collegues I really enjoyed it.
My Saturday morning horror is a long distant memory :D ..and the next time I see my car she will be as good as new (i hope :) )

Remember to have a good look at your car in daylight and if it is not 100% do not accept it!! I very rarely ever see a perfect job but i'm fussy and looking at brand new cars all day. :(

Accident exchange are fantastic - I used them for the 3 series issue I mentioned above - gave me an exact replacement and let me keep it for longer so I could park it at the airport whilst on holiday instead of mine, even though my car was ready to be picked up!

The £300 a day charge might have somethnig to do with that.

I used Swift when someone battered into my TT, the cost of the hire car for 9 days was £2700 (the cost of the repairs was £2300)

Back to the OP, do what AL says and make sure you check it properly before accepting.

I didn't do that with my TT and in certain lights you could tell that it was a different colour

Well the Z4 came back.. and I'm happy with the result. Accident Exchange get a thumbs up from me

Took the chance to finish my headlight conversion as well. :D

Good stuff, glad the work was carried out well.

Although I realise it was an insurance job, any idea about the cost and what was invovled?

The original quote was £1517.
They have replaced the wing and blended the paint job into the door.
Removed / refurb'd the few scratches from the alloy
They have also replaced the indicator and bmw badge

No blend into the bonnet or the bumper.

Great news. How is the colour match from the front wing to the bonnet? Odd that they need only blend it into one panel. But good at the same time as the bonnet is prone to chipping and with fresh soft paint being the order of the day, you should avaoid that little heartache.

When I collected it and ever since it's pretty much spot on.. that is until I cleaned it this morning!
You only get to know your car after a good clean! I'm not worried.. you have to really look for it and catch the wrong light and angle.

Looking good.
I bet your neighbours insurance company is happy :fuelfire:

You being refered to Accident Exchange has made me think though.
I recently got a letter from my BMW dealer with a free BMW accident helpine card. I suppose it's really just a direct referal to a company like Accident Exchange.

my wife had a 5 series reverse into her Audi on Monday.. Talk about an unlucky household.
Audi have exactly the same process.. However the body shop wouldn't stop badgering her to get the referal.
She put it through her company insurance in the end just to spite them!
