Front OS Wing Replacement

My girlfriend's 2.0 Z4 Roadster has taken a parking knock. :headbang:

There is damage to the OS front wing, causing a creaseline on the arch and pushing the nose of the wing further in towards the engine bay. It's only slight, but it has caused one of the headlight unit fixings tabs to snap. I reckon on replacing the entire wing with a used panel, this is due to the damage and it probably being very difficlut for a panel beater to realign so all the panel gaps etc are even (the rest of the car needs paint repairs so spraying not so much of an issue).

Regarding the headlight unit, how can I idantify what type of hedlights they are? It's a 55 Plate Sport and has the amber indicators. How can I tell if they're Xenon? Is it possible to replace the broken fixing tab (plastic welding maybe)? How much would 2nd hand headlamp unit be?

Thanks in advance.

If you have a wheel on the light switch in the cabin to raise and lower the lights. They are not xenon and will be much cheaper. The fact they are orange helps cost wise as well.

Machine Monkey,

Thanks for your response.

Do wing used panels & headlamp units come up much on E-Bay & the classifieds? Or will I need to call round the breakers?

I used to use Quarry Motors for E39 M5 parts are there any particular recommendations for Z4 parts?

Thanks.

They do come up its also worth asking on hear.

I helped a guy out the other day with an old bumper i had knocking around. Post a wanted add headlights should not be hard to come by on hear. People are always replacing them for the clear units.

Quarry motors are about as good as it gets i think for BMW barkers.

Thanks for the advice so far.

Anybody have any idea on whether or not it would be possible to fix the broken lug instead of replacing the whole unit.

I've heard of 'plastic welding' but I'm not familiar with what is capable?

Also, how can I check the paint code/name for the existing wing panel that I'm going to swap out. Ideally I's like to get a matching one from the breakers. It's Black, but I'm not usre of the exact name?

Thanks.
