Front Number Plate Styles

Hi all,

I think I'll get my front bumper resprayed in the near future and I'm trying to decide what to do about my front number plate.

In the 3.0si, at least do me, the front end looked far better without the front plinth with the number plate stuck straight onto the bumper. However, in the M, I don't think that looks good at all (numper plate is taller than the bumper member) and I think it looks good with a full size number plate on the plinth.

Almost seems like a waste not to get all the number plate holes filled and have a removable (magnetic or suction type) number plate so I can have a plateless look whenever I want.

So can I see what your solutions are?

Would it be possible to be cheeky and get a slightly shorter plate made so that you could mount it the same way as you do on non-M without it being wider than the area on the bumper? Then whether you want stick tape, suction or magnet is up to you

That is certainly one of the options I'm considering. I know a few members have shorter front plates on M bumpers, I just can't remember their name.

Do you happen to have any photos of the front end with the plate on so I can see how it looks with a full size plate without the plinth, please?
