Front left brake and rear bushes?

Well at the Mot they failed my car because of a fault on the front left brake? They said the pads were prob gone, just looking at them and they look fine? What else could cause this?

Also advisory warning on rear bushes? What this all about?

Help

Your rear bushes are probably knackered or on the way out. Luckily it isn't an expensive job to replace those at least anyway. How did the brake fault manifest itself?

Well not sure just this minute removed the left brake and no signs of any wear!! Small lip on disk nothing bad I don't think and the pads are prob 3 quarters worn, nothing major intact alot of life left.

Funny thing though, my drivers side brake did not have a sensor on, no wires or the connector in the housing!! The other was fully inserted in the pad??

They say there's a fault in the left front braking, Is this a ploy to get me to spend money? Can they do this?

Shall I take to another garage to test after fitting new Pads?

Many thanks

Sounds like they could just be trying it on then -- it isn't unheard of!

Nothing stops someone not fitting sensors if they're too cheap to do so or simply can't be bothered

Well the seal isn't the best could this be it after I compressed it looks like this

I might get it booked elsewhere

There's only one pad sensor per axle. IIRC, front left and rear right are fitted.
The idea is that the pads on one axle wear at approximately the same rate, so there is no need to fit both wheels on the same axle.
