How do i remove them?? mine have been painted black by the previous owner but the paint has now started to peel off them, looks like the surface wasnt primed correctly and the paint was applied directly to the silver parts, was wondering how to take them off for some propper paint.

dont be scared of giving them a pull!! place your hands closer to the top outer corners then lift and pull. one side might release first but they come out in the end. had mine in and out several times with nothing breaking. to put them back in just line them up and push evenly all the way around.. dead easy

I'm with pvr on srhutch's method of removal

You'll know your on the right thread when you read it

Hi Rob, the grills are sliver/grey plastic, they were fully rubbed down, 3 coats of primmer rubbed down between coats for a smooth finish, 3 coats of BMW Sapphire Black paint , follows by 2/3 coats of lacquered work done over a week for drying times... lots of 1200-1400 wet and dry!!!,as well…. so if that’s not worked I would strongly suggest a paint shop or get black grills only possible issue was I used Halfords grey primmer.. And not proper paint shop stuff :?

Did read a few mixed reviews before doing it to be fair saying it can chip quite easily...

TBH I tried this as above and painting seems to be a waste of time as it only seems to chip. In the end I bought some matt black vinyl from eBay for fiver and wrapped them, never had a problem since.

To be fair mate I reckon this is the way forward I was in two minds before painting it but as I had the paint and everything already I decided to do it I reckon for fiver its worth a shot :)
