Quick question do BMW supply the matt black grills for the E89. I can only find the gloss ones. All the matt ones seem to be non BMW and I'm not sure of the quality of these ones. Any advice welcome

I don't believe so, I have a set of the official BMW black ones awaiting to be painted along with a refurbished M-Sport front bumper for our Z.
 
Best is to take it off and give it to a small bodyshop or scuff repairer to get it sprayed (should only be £30-£50).
 
I've had the matte eBay third party grilles, quality is fine. I sold mine however as I wanted the BMW gloss black sports grilles that match the gloss paint of the car.
 
agree. respray current or buy another set - recommend teddy ssddmotorsport - around £50 for gloss black i think. if you want matte you would need to spray. afaik dont think bmw performance do matte
 
Yep, the official ones from bmw are gloss only, but do look good. I have them, they match the car well so I think you may be pleased with the gloss ones. Think they are about £85 for a pair though.
 
I have spare pair, silver with black surround. You could experiment. £20 plus postage if you are interested.
