Front Grill

ebay (black grill from Home & Garden section, BMW black kidney grilles from Cars section).

I don't think anyone in their right mind will want to pay £65 plus for a black kidney grill off ebay - any other methods of making the grill black (DIY tips?)

I used vinyl to cover my outer chrome rings, which seems durable and only £5. With a 3.0i harder as you need to do the slats as well, although grills come up often on fleabay.

Do you think Plasti Dip would cover the front grill nicely? I used it on my old Cooper S with great effect - its a pretty straight forward process. What do peeps think?

I got a black grill set (with a chrome outer) from a local breakers for £35.

imo if i wanted all black i would simply vinyl wrap the chrome as srhutch; instead of painting it - as painting would be more prone to chips and cracking with flexing.

If you buy a set of black grilles from ebay then sell yours the price is offset by quite a bit. making the mod not too expensive

i got mine form ebay for £20 and sold my OEM ones for about £40 IIRC. i got paid to do a mod :D

Good idea but have you seen the price for the black grills on eBay - sooo expensive for a bit of plastic - does anyone have a link to a decent supplier of black kidney grills?

Thanks

I bought mine from BM Town, they were £75 which was expensive but they are an excellent fit, sometimes you get what you pay for. I tried vinyl wrapping the chrome outer and it looked OK but a bit DIY.

I might just paint mine and see how they look - £75 is alot of dosh for some plastic grills still lol

If you have the original grey ones and they're in good nick, you can sell them to me as I have black ones and don't like them :)
