How about some dive plaines????

 PMSL Beedub

oy bing im being serious!!! lol

porsche fitted them stock to the 4.0l GT3 which is probably imo one of the finest cars to ever grace earth, they make a big difference and should be able to be added pretty cheaply.

Never mind, I still found it hilarious :D

That porker is lovely, for a porker

lol i love that it made you laugh... im laughing now about it as it does read completely ridiculous!!! albeit true!!

I actually went onto the MOD auction site to see if they had an old submarine for sale to post a pic, but I couldn't find one :P

I wouldn't want to fit them. Those flippers in the first photo I posted have some suggestion of dive plate aerodynamic function with the slight up turn at the sides.

When I was at The Ring last September I had a passenger lap in a GT3 RS; truly awesome piece of kit! 8)

But only a suggestion. I'm no aerodynamicist (although I have studied physics), but the point of dive planes is to direct the air over the top of the wheels with all their turbulence-inducing rotation, etc. You can't have a half a dive plane, as the air still hits the wheel at some point.

I would assume that AC Schnitzer stuff has been designed by an aerodynamicist with CFD, so that's why I would basically copy what they've already produced.

Maybe some of you guys are better drivers than me (I've only ever tracked a car once for example) but I must admit
I've not noticed some of the faults you talk about in this thread.

Whilst the steering might lack some of the ultimate feel of a Cayman for example, it is still pretty precise and direct in my opinion. I also can't honestly say I have ever worried about or noticed front-end lift either and I've done some very big speeds in mine. I will have to take mine out at the weekend for a blast to see if I notice any of these characteristics.

However I do wholeheartedly agree about the rear suspension being far too crashy which makes the car much more of an effort than it should be, to drive quickly on twisty b-roads with less-than-perfect surfaces. Probably a result of a shortened development cycle conducted on smooth German asphalt!

etc.

It's horses for courses. If you haven't noticed the things which I (and some others) think are faults that I need to sort with my Z4MC then you haven't got a problem to solve, so I wouldn't bother looking for them.

As I've said, I live in the sticks and do about 70% of my driving on the rural twisties with undulating surfaces where the NSL applies(ish). So I really get to notice the handling characteristics probably more than most might do. Obviously, in a car like the Z4MC it's possible to overtake on the twisties where most other cars can't and hard acceleration into the opposite carriageway and back around another vehicle, on heavily cambered relatively narrow roads during overtaking, is a severe test for any car's suspension. The OEM Z4MC repeatedly fails that test for me.

Exdos - I do completly agree about skittishness on poor road surfaces caused by poor damping. It was more the front-end lift and steering issues I hadn't really experienced

steering feel is nowhere near as good as a 911 though. I wonder how much new suspension and a change in geometry will make a difference.
