front end paint refresh? or embrace the chips?

ok so...

the old girl is getting on now...... the paint on the car is fantastic overall as you'd expect from such a low mile car but it is starting to show its fair share of rock chips despite its low miles, the paint on this car isn't really the best seems very soft and the shape of the car appears to really attract stone strikes .....

So whats the general opinion, do a front end refresh and maybe cover in a paint shield or leave it as it is and embrace the natural patina :evil: :evil: :evil:

Anyone had a front end refresh yet?
 
I much prefer to spend on mechanical things where I can feel the difference. If I wanted to keep the car for 10yrs plus I'd entertain a respray of the bumper every 5yrs. For you it's worth it and some film would be a good idea.

PS: Only if there's nothing left on the mechanical mods list...

Technically YES, as i changed my bumper to a M bumper,
but my bonnet has a few stonchips that annoy me every time i was the car, and my drivers door has a couple of dinks from car park Nobs opening their own doors onto mine.

As Steve84N says its very low on my list of priorities, but at the same time its something thats continually nagging at me.
 
It's a big spend for something that will 100% happen again. The idea of a protective film after a respray sounds good though.
 
I had the front end refreshed on mine a couple of years ago for the same reason, really smartened her up but then like an idiot, went and did a road trip across Europe which included a track day at Spa without having a shield put on first :headbang:

She's going in again for a face-lift once I've sorted a new wing (rust bubbles) and a couple of wheel arch linings. I took the number plate housing off a couple of years back and relocated the number plate down to the bottom grill so I'm thinking of having her debaged, to give her a clean nose.
 
hmmmm......

ok... maybe ill leave it for a few more years and get it done and then clear wrap the front. either way... its not a priority for now i agree, and the chips are their are totally in keeping with the cars age.

I did my bumpers- stone chips on front and scratches on rear whilst rest was near mint.

Apparently aero's are quite cheap from dealer? I'd nab one of those and get that sprayed... but I'll echo what some other people have said, mechanical bits are more of a priority, then interior, then exterior...

I say that but I'm going through a rear light conversation to facelift... hmmm!! :lol:
 
I keep putting off getting mine done. But I think I will sooner rather than later. on 60k now though bit more than yours. I'm never likely to do any mods to the car, so best to keep it looking fresh. :)
