Front Disks and Pads....Costs?

Morning all,

I'm in need of new front disks and pads, been quoted £607 by BMW for the work which includes 10% off parts and labour.
On face value this seems a resonable price.
Would you guys say that this is a good price? I'm after OEM parts as the car is still under warranty ( wouldn't put anything else on it TBH).

Regards

Dan

If youi go for OEM main dealer fit then expect to pay MD prices. However there are alternatives which are cheaper. Quick search will give you several options. Why not ring round dealers and see who gives the best quote.

Cheers Alan, Waiting on some at the moment so fingers crossed.

To give you an idea, front and rear pads (Pagid = oem) + sensors cost me ~120 GBP from eurocarparts + 2 hrs of work in the garage on a Saturday. Called up Park Lane for a quote and got 411.28 for parts and labor.. your choice

I'm sure when I was looking at prices, discs were around 300 each and then 100+ for the pads.

I got the whole 4 wheel set done for £600 at an indy, and that was using BMW supplied parts to keep the warranty intact.

If you're out of warranty, then you can get some aftermarket/pattern discs and might save a few quid - although last time I looked the front discs were cheaper at BMW than at ECP/GSF (it was one of the two).

Front discs from BMW are about £190 each, and pads are £104. If you go aftermarket you can get the pads for about half that, or genuine BMW pads for about £80 and discs for £150 at BM Mini Parts(they buy surplus & defunct dealer stock).

Thanks for all the pointer guys, I've had a few quotes back now and whats surprised me is my local indi is only £8 cheaper than the BMW dealership I use? I had one quote which came to £700 from a main dealer. Might just get the parts from mmm-five's link and do it myself !!

Many Thanks
