Front control arm bushes

Hello everyone

I bought a 2007 2.5i sport in July last year and really like it for the most part. However, I do have an issue with the car tram lining on all but the smoothest of roads and it can be very unnerving. I'm going to order some new tires next week to replace the run flats (it has 108 wheels) which I am hoping will help

I was just curious to see what the general consensus is on which type of control arm business to get. Should I go for standard or power flex? I definitely don't want something that could cause the tram lining to get worse. I know this has been covered before but I thought it may be worth asking again.

Thanks in advance

Cheers

Jon.

There is plenty of discussion on this using search. (too much!)
The general consensus is keep the bushes in good nick by regular replacement. Standard, Meyle or Poly plenty of choice after market.
Poly can be harsh and the ride is hard already. Down to personal choice but replacement will probably freshen things up and reduce "ditch magnetism".
Welcome btw

Great stuff, thanks for the reply. Yeah I've read a few different threads about this and there is a lot of mixed opinions. I'm going to see if the tyres make a significant improvement (hopefully) and if it still has the urge to find ditches, I'll replace the bushes too.

Cheers

You will feel a marked improvement with the ride, steering and handling..

Agreed, though have had Poly bushes on & never considered the ride harsh, though depends of the previous car floats like a boat

Thanks for all the replies, I am genuinely looking forward to trying the car without run flats (not so the cost of the tyres haha).

With regard to the bushes, did you notice any ill affects due to fitting poly bushes?

Cheers,

Jon.

Just had the tyres changed today for some Falken 914's, what a difference it's made. The tram lining has all but gone and the ride quality has definitely improved. Only slight annoyance is the tyre fitter has damaged one of my wheels, still they have said they'll pay to get it fixed.

Thanks for all the replies

Cheers,

Jon
