Front Bumper Trouble

There's plenty of material out there about taking your bumper off, that's the easy part, but getting it back on again is a different matter.
Everyone says "putting it back on again is just the reverse of taking it off" so why isn't mine that simple?
Any tips?

Feels like there is a lot of resistance at the bottom of the bumper to go inward, I cannot get the holes aligned, I've even got the new under-tray fitted but screwing to it is not going to happen without a LOT of force. I keep thinking the hoses for the headlight washers might be the cause but they seem to be out of the way. Pulling my hair out (if i had any).

I've had my front bumper on and off very recently and it was quite easy to put back on for my first time. I have headlight washers and nothing seemed to get in the way. Getting the pipe back on the pump was a bit of a pain.

One thing that was different for me was that I didn't have an undertray fitted.

I have since fitted an undertray.

You need, or ought to, have the undertray off when removing and refitting the bumper. I’ve never had the trouble you describe, but it’s often difficult to get the top corners to clip in correctly.

Thanks for the suggestion, i'll take the undertray off and try again today.

I was removing mine and did not have a problem refitting. I was doing it with my brother and believe that it is easier with two people doing that.

So with a bit of persuasion the bumper finally gave in and decided to fit correctly.
It wasn't the undertray that was the problem (although removing it gave me a different line of sight from underneath to see where the resistance was coming from), but it was the plastic shielding in the wheel arch that was not locating along the bottom of the bumper properly.

If it’s any consolation, I had a massive struggle getting mine to push back far enough to line up with the arch clips. After succeeding, my headlight washer tube popped off letting out all the screen wash, meaning I had to do it all over again!

Glad you got it sorted though
