Front bumper clips!

So, I had my accident in the car last week or something.. And thanks to the help of everyone on here I have nearly all the parts to repair it! Luckily it was only cosmetic damage, nothing structural at all. But I realised earlier when I was leaving work to come home and put some more bits on the car, that the two clips the sat below the front wings, holding the front bumper on had both broken. I've looked on eBay for these, and can't find them. Does anyone know where I can get any? Need both sides!
Then the car will be done and back together, and off to have the bumper painted :)! Thanks guys!

Thank you sir! Shouldn't be long and the car will be back on the road, I'll ring bmw tomorrow and order these. Then that should be the last piece of the puzzle!

Woah Janey mack! You're kidding me right? :( they're so brittle and disintegrate so easily though :(
Needs to be ordered though! Can't scrimp now!

Nope, not joking... The newer design is much more sturdy though

When did the newer design appear? I've broken both of mine, I didn't think about it breaking when I thumped the bumper into position...

Well I got mine when I posted in that thread - been around a while. I posted pics of new and old in the bumper removal thread in the how-to section. There's an extra plastic 'brace' where it gets narrow in the middle. The bumper shouldn't need a thump to go on, just a firm push... Though in fairness yours may have been cracked already, you just couldn't see it.

Thanks, I'll nip out and have a look what mine look like tomorrow. Bumpers already off... so I might as well replace these while I'm fiddling.

Sadly yes, works out about £50 a pair. They're designed to break on impact, from what I've been told. It's also a complete bu%%er to get them out of the wing without breaking them.

Interestingly, when I saw srhutch on Saturday he'd gotten one out of his wing without breaking it. Can't for the life of me remember how he said he did it though... Something about a credit card and a screw driver :?

funnily enough I can't get the clips IN my wing :(

I think when a friend accidentally dropped the front off of a kerb, he may have bent the metal within the wing "up" a bit. I'll be trying to rectify very shortly as I HATE how it looks.

I think I may one spare passenger side clip DanGilbert, but I just want to get mine back in place before I could send it out to anyone.

@Bing, no that was for cleaning your wheels, well the credit card anyway. I used a radio removal tool to extract mine. A screwdriver is no good, you need something with a bend in it.

@RJS, try some washing up liquid on the tabs to help lubricate.

You should be thankful they break upon impact. If not then all of these minor taps on kerbs, bumps or even aggressive bumper removal, etc. would cost you 1 or 2 new wings....

Hmmm, I'll give it a go, but it honestly feels like the clips aren't long enough to go in the holes.. Bastard thing.

Yep, the new ones are much better. Currently have 1 old and 1 new but will be changing the old one soon.

I got mine from bmminiparts.com

Saved me using petrol to drive 12 miles to my nearest dealer and saved phoning sopers aswell.
