For what it's worth, I actually split mine in two, cleaned off the corrosion, repainted with chrome , machine polished the clear lenses to remove stone chips and dirt, resealed back together and then refitted with a decent set of bulbs. Whilst they aren't perfect, they do look respectable and work well. ( stuck some 100w white light bulbs in )
