Front brake pads need replacing- ideas pls?!

Warning light has just started to illuminate, checking them this morning in the daylight and its the fronts that need replacing.

Done a few forum searches re which pads to go for, but so many differing opinions, depending upon use, dust etc, etc....

I am running a 3.0 L Si,which is on standard disks (not sure what pads are on atm tbh) I dont use it on a track, nor intend to, however I do occasionally throw it around roundabouts and break hard and late etc, I have noticed the existing pads fade a little but tbh, not to a problem point

One post mentioned 'some fast road pads (Mintex or Ferodo)' and others have mentioned 'the e-pad textar pads' then of course there are the OEM ones from ECP

What I would like idealy is good stopping power with minimal fade, which don't squeal and don't throw masses of dust off - bet not all those come in the one pad lol :rofl:

And has anyone got advice on the differences in normal, but sometimes spirited driving using the above pads, im unsure whether the oem ones are any worse than the others or vice a versa, and if the likes of the epads (with the higher costs) are any better for me, so any help appreciated,

Your car is not classed as an "SI" just a 3.0 which is important when buying discs/pads.

I have got EBC yellow stuff up front on my ///M and they are great - they take a bit of stamping when cold to become effective and then are great for everyday driving. If you become more spirited and perhaps wanted to do the occasional "italian tune up" then these brakes go to the next level when you seriously start to stamp on them and give minimal to none fade - from my experience. Whilst they are not rated at "low dust" they are certainly not as dusty as OEM pads but not as dust free as say the EBC greens produce.

I use Green Stuff on my MX-5 which are also rather good. Still going to be better than the OEMs but haven't got the power of the Yellow's.
 
i bought pagid's from euro car parts last summer and have had no problems.

the standard brakes aren't amazing anyway, and no amount of pad is going to dramatically increase the breaking force. upgrading to the bigger discs/calipers from the 3.0si will be far better.
 
I've got Ferodo DS2500 on mine, no squeal when cold and also work very well when cold, very good when warmed up, wouldnt consider them dusty either.
