Front brake calipers

Hi,

I have a general question about my zeds front brake calipers (2004 3.0i). At some point I will need to replace the brake lines as they are showing signs of cracking. I was wondering if it is worth having the calipers serviced or to just buy a new pair. If the latter, which is a good make. Thanks

If they're working fine you could leave them, but a new pair wouldn't hurt and they will eventually fail, so why not.
I picked up a standard pair of replacements from ECP, with money back when I returned the old ones. For the price I could see not point overhauling the old ones. I think they're ATE as standard?
If you're going to that trouble then may as well consider discs and pads as well?
 
Thanks. I am convinced there is something up with the front calipers, the right side I think. I get a knocking sound when I brake sometimes. Quite intermittent. Just thinking that with the age of the car a new set would be more reassuring and less work.
 
Just read somewhere that failing brake lines could also cause problems with calipers working oddly. Anyone had this problem?
