Front and Rear Reflecter Decals.

I bought some Vinyl Reflector Decals to hide those ugly reflectors that we have to put up with here in the US.

But I am not that happy with them. Take a look. Not that great a color match.

I guess, I am just going to have to remove the reflectors, paint them with BMW paint and clearcoat them.

Sucks you guys have to have those, they do look horrid. I'd probably want to get the holes filled with fuser, smoothed and painted...but that would be a few hundred dollars I guess

Will the car still pass yearly state inspection if you paint the reflectors?
(I know they mostly concentrate on emissions but just a thought)

Nice compromise if you don't want to go thru the trouble of painting. Only Z geeks like us notice those things anyway.

Decals look OK.
I would say that unless you were going to fill in the holes and paint so they're invisible I'd leave the decals on as even if you paint the reflectors you will still be able to see them.

I have this theory... if you aren't going to add something to a car that classes it up or adds style you shouldn't do it. I'm a bit anal so I wouldn't add the stickers because I can see the outline and it would bother me seeing them. I guess you're a perfectionist and want the clean lines without the disruption of the reflectors... I get it... I just wouldn't do it. I have a black Z4 so I'd be prone to blacking them out. You could also remove the reflector and paint match it yourself... sounds crazy but not that hard.

Not perfect but an improvement on the reflectors

I won't waist expensive paint on stickers. I'll pull the reflectors, then paint them.
That's my plan for now.
I did them on the roadster & they turned out OK.
I didn't like having the circles still showing though; even more so with a light coloured car

At some point I'll get the bumpers filled & repainted.

So the car can pass annual safety test and does not break any traffic regulations. What is the point to have reflecters on the bumpers at all? Can Zed owners in US replace the bumpers with European ones?

Just removed mine yesterday after trying them out for a week. The reason is simple, they looked like someone forgot to remove masking tape covering the reflectors during a bumper respray.

Looking at the pics a normal John Doe wouldn't see the diff, it's only that us on the forum are looking at that area that notice the color diff

That's the only reason I have left them on.
