My friend has just divorced from his wife, usual story, house divided up, she go the inside he got the outside. She kept the car too.
He's now in the market for another car, he wants a BMW estate around 2.5ltr deisel, auto. 2014.
First off, any recommendations for 'where to buy' in the London and surrounding counties?
Secondly, and suggestions on 'what to buy'? He's not interested in bells and whistles, just a reliable, tidy, economical car. No ///m's or makes that are prone to going wrong and cost a packet when they do.
Budget is around £15K

I have a 320d cabrio back in the uk and that 2 litre diesel unit is ubiquitous accross several models.
It has decent performance, economy and no issues when i crank it up every couple of months when i'm back there.
I'd suggest 320d estate.

Thanks Chris, I'll pass that on. Don't suppose your selling yours?

I was going to flog it in order to release some capital to help me pay for the E86 I was going to buy but decided to keep hold of it. Could be open to offers tho.... ;)
It's been a fantastic car but doesnt get used much as i'm based mostly in holland and it's at my place in th UK.
I'd certainly recommend one if he's after a convertible but the engine is tiptop even in the 3 estate version too!

Have a look at a 5 series touring, they seem to be better value than the 3 at the moment?

Not a beeer but what about a Skoda Superb estate. Big, drive well, can be fast depending on engine (up to 280bhp), well built VW/Audi credentials and fantastic value.
