Oops, I posted this to the discussion group by mistake.
Water got into the trunk and fried my amplifier (03 e85 z4) and found out a used one runs for over $300 (I thought it was extravagant owning an old Jag xj6!). Decided to upgrade the stereo and use it temporarily without an amp but can't seem to get the brushed aluminum face plate trim off the dash. The Hayne's Manual is full of crap - says to use a wooden or plastic spatula to pry it off - NOT gonna happen!!! Is it held on by bolts or screws and if so how do you get to them? The fun is just beginning but then I have worked on other vehicles that must have been designed by someone who was on something pretty good before.
