It's almost a year since I bought my Coupe so they AU warranty states they will do a free MOT and fix anything that is wrong if it comes under warranty. As the manufacturers warranty does not run out untill Feb next year do you think it's worth getting the free MOT now?

If I wait untill feb I have to pay for the MOT but anything wrong that comes under manufacturers warranty will be still covered.

What do you think get it done now or wait to feb?

Free MOT? I think no MOT is free under New Car Warranty, Approved Used Car Warranty and Insured Warranty.

after checking you are right but they do cover you for anything it fails on, so is this any better than getting it MOT's in Feb and if it fails getting it repaired under manufacturers warranty?

I'm a bit confused, I brought my Z4 in Feb 2010 which came with a 12 month MOT + 12 months AUC warranty. The garage (not BMW) also offered free MOT for life of ownership. My next MOT was done free in Feb 2011.
Have you got the 'free MOT for life offer'?

with AUC, you get MOT cover, which is (from BMW website):

If you have an MOT test carried out within 12 months from the date of your car order (and no more than 30 days before the due MOT date), your BMW MOT cover will ensure there are no unexpected costs for necessary repairs or replacement of specified components.

Excludes Northern Ireland; these cars will be supplied with the remaining unexpired portion of the current MOT. (MOT cover applies only where an MOT is required.)

I had the same confusion when I bought mine and the dealer as a goodwill gesture, refunded my MOT cost

As my dealer was based 200 miles away i won't bother asking them, ha ha

I guess i'll just wait untill it's due next year and if it fails on anything above wear and tear then i'll get the manufacturers warranty to cov  er it.

You should get an MOT voucher if it's due withing 12 months, you should be able to use this at any dealer but only on that particular car.

I have a voucher but no car :headbang:
