Free Maintenance

I have only had my Zed a few months and it does not indicate that I need maintenance of any king, but…… A long time ago when I started looking for a BMW a friend told me that BMW gave FREE maintenance for life on their vehicles and that buyers of used ones would still get that coverage.

The last time I was in the dealership we talked about maintenance and I was told that a simple oil change would be $150.00. I didn’t think about it much at the time but then again I heard someone talking about it here locally. Does anyone know if there was a time that this benefit was offered, or maybe it was just a local promotion or maybe I was dreaming. Anyone have any info on this subject?

The free maintenance for the Z4 is only for the first 50K miles or 4 years. I don't think BMW ever offered free life-time maintenance warranty on any BMW in the past either.

If your car has the extended maintenance warranty, then the warranty is valid for an extra 2 years & 50K miles. And which dealer charged you $150 for an oil change? :o An oil change for my '04 3.0i only cost about $70 at Seattle BMW; that was 2 years ago though.

My new car warranty includes free service for the first 48 months or 50K miles - whichever comes first. You are on your own after that....
