Not sure if this has already been posted, but useful link for a brief car history checker.
Obviousy not a full outstanding hp checker as its free but useful for number of owners, reg changes and mot history.

They also provide a free evaluation which at an optimistic £24k for my zed made me chuckle.

Would be nice if it gave some MOT history but it doesn't appear to (other than "up to date" when I checked). I would like to find any record of service history for my Zed, but can't find anything from when it was in the UK.

Yep scroll down, its quite detailed shows advisories and failed attempts, together with noted mileages

You can always get the MOT history from the Gov.uk site anyway?

As for service history, you can try ringing up BMW to ask for a log of which UK dealers a car has visited, alternatively there is a guy on eBay that will email you a report for £20.

Cool. I was actually just after a quick place to check number of owners for free. This was the only place that I coukd find... so far.

It's not always accurate.

Reg No: LD55CBY is a black X Type Jaguar, previously owned by me. The recent sales adds alternate between it being silver and beige!

That said, I looked back at every other car I have owned that is still likely to be on the road, and all was good.

Cool, as a quick free place to look its ok. I guess if youre buying on the back of it youd probably do some more 'formal' checking

Interesting ... looks like my Zed has gone up in value ... happy days!

Cazana doesn't show MOT history on my Zed but I ran my Mercedes through the site and it came up with that car no problems at all and also gave a spot on valuation too

Nope - no history, just says 'up to date'.
I'm guessing history wiped when vehicle de-registered/exported?
I've also tried contacting BMW that sold it, and they weren't interested as it's been exported.
Not a biggie really, but it would be nice to get a bit more service history just to see if anything ever needed doing. I think it's been garaged most of its life as the last time it was up on a ramp the mechanic remarked on the good condition of the underbody.

It all comes up as expected on my car mot history,plate changes etc the only discrepancy is it says mines a coupe
