Free: Broken Clear Third Brake Lamp

Broken lamp but with fully working circuit board from split clear rear third brake lamp.

No idea how easy it is to split the housing - might be useful your housing is good but one or more LEDs are not.

Postage cost only (not sure how much yet)

Hi mate, I replaced my broken red light last year with the new clear unit and used new springs (kindly donated by Mr Wilks iirc) but some of the middle LEDs have stopped working

would be interested

Had a PM asking about this already but not sure if they would need the circuit board. Will ask and let you know.

I'd be asking BMW to replace yours though - would like to see how they get out of the parts warranty when the LEDs have failed. I have finally had mine replaced but it did take a good few months and an email to the UK CEO...

yea I was thinking about speaking to them especially as I have used the newer springs, just not got around to it yet

My warranty claim was initially denied as they said it wasn't a manufacturing fault. This later was expanded to "incorrect fitting".

Go to your nearest dealer and get them to inspect under warranty - see if they replace.
