Foxwell NT510 vs Carly

Does anyone on here have the Foxwell NT510 ?

I was thinking of getting the Carly adapter and pro app but have heard a few horror stories.

Would appreciate any feedback and experiences

What horror stories?
I had a Carly for my x3 and it was excellent- but I sold it.
Have just ordered a new one....

Ive heard of issues with FRMs being wiped on some e90s but that was an FRM issue, not a Carly issue?

I’ve got Carly and it’s been really good. Only problem I’m having at the moment is hanging the ringtone.

I still remain and say it’s a good bit of kit. My only downside is that you pay for the pro app but this doesn’t include all function ability. I.e £13.99 to be able to code idrive (video in play, ringtones etc) extra for service reset (can’t remember how much) and extra for battery registration.

For me if you buy the pro app it should include everything.

So if you buy all the add ons it will cost as much as the Foxwell
But is it as good ?
The diagnostics seem to be better with the Foxwell from what I've read
But not sure about the module coding

I’m not sure about the Foxwell so can’t comment I’m afraid. Don’t know the price either but to get all the available options for the Carly I’d say you’re looking at best part of £100.

I find the coding with the Carly really good. It’s so simple. Tick what you want to change/add and it does it for you as well as taking a backup if all goes wrong and you want to revert to how it was. I’ve come from the VW vagtech VCDS and the coding on that was a black art when I looked at it. Didn’t dare touch it. The Carly on the other hand couldn’t be simpler. It does a pre code check on the ecu to make sure it’s comunicating ok. If not the Carly will give you a warning before you continue. This is to keep you safe from bricking the ecu. If it’s all working as expected it just continues.
