Hello there guys,

Long time lurker of the forum - I'm being deadly serious when I say around 2/3 years flicking through the forum almost daily - and finally an opportunity as arisen to finally get myself a Z4.

Albeit in September this year :|

Hey, gimme a break, I'm excited :D

The situation is all to do with the company car, but had the great idea of putting up a wanted thread this early in case people had their own plans to end their ownership after summer this year, or knew of friends or had the same idea. I would be looking to buy the vehicle any time from September 16th onwards. It's annoying, because I've found a lovely example being sold at a Porsche Specialist in Cridford, but pretty sure that's going to be long gone by then haha.

I'm not particularly fussy with spec, model, extras. I love both the Roadster and Coupe, but just don't want anything that is dramatically dull - black with black leather, for example. No offence to anyone at all haha, but it's just not my style.

There are only 3 other definites for me - the 1st is Manual, the 2nd is Xenons, the 3rd is that if it's a Roadster, it's gotta heat my backside!. In an ideal world, the mileage would sit comfortably below 60k, but I wouldn't be overly worried if somebody can show me a well cared for forum example.

So, if anyone is in a situation where they can see themselves selling around mid-September this year, feel free to comment or send me a private message, where I can send you my private email/number and we can go from there :)

I'm so excited that I'm finally able to post this sort of message instead of just sat here dreaming about having one haha.

Looking forward to seeing what's out there, if anything.

Cheers :D

EDIT: So after a couple of weeks of some pretty dubious maths on my part  , I've decided I can also stretch to a Z4M.

Everything above still applies, but seeing as I only really do 10,000 miles a year including commute and leisure, coupled with a planned pay rise, I see no reason not to extend the search to include M's aswell.

Looking forward to seeing what's out there still, like to keep my options open haha.

Thanks

Welcome, but a bit shocking that after 2 years you would still consider a coupe though

Woah, no rivalry here til I decide which one I'm actually getting!

Hahaha, the roadster has always been the favourite to be fair, but after seeing a few coupes in the flesh I can't help but admire the way they sit on the road.
It's going to be a tough decision, but I think it'll come down to the nicest available example at the time!

What are you running at the mo ? Between now & Sept you could look into some of the meets to get a better idea of C or R

Currently in a 225d - I work for BMW, hence the company car (total fan boy, sticking with BMW right? haha) :D

I'm pretty sure I am still leaning towards a Roadster, but I just didn't want to rule out a Coupe if the right one came up, you know?

Definitely like the idea of coming to a few meets though - I've had a test drive in a 3.0si Roady and a Z4MC, so I have a feel for both, but there's nothing like coming to a few proper owners meets. Will have to keep an eye out for any ones local to me (Oxfordshire).

Seriously considering selling mine at the end of the summer. Is the Porsche specialist you refer to Cridfords? If it is, mine's identical with a few subtle mods.

Drop me a PM some point

Crikey GJC72.
They will be queuing round the block if yours comes on the market!

One of my favs on the forum!

Sorry - Welcome Schemauk! I am sure you will find a suitable Zed

It is indeed a stunning car. Keeping my fingers crossed

Cheers Taz, the only down side is the long wait now!

Very impressive month identification skills!

Purely trying to get a fix on whats out there, to keep me in the minds of those looking to sell after summer

There are no meets really in Oxfordshire. I am in Witney and you welcome to tag along with me to any that i attend

Good idea getting in early and putting fellers out there. And getting a feel for the cars

But what's about now won't be come September. Why bump a thread when you're not ready yet.

Keep checking the for sale section and see what's about and to gauge the prices and what sort of money these are changing hands for.
Piston Heads and Auto trader are likely to see an influx soon as Zed's come out of hibernation and get a clean up for the spring/summer to move to a new owner.

Test drive and see how they drive and what options you might want but this might only make the wait that much longer if you get a taste for one now.

Unfortunately people rarely remember those wanting to buy later and will just post their advert in the for sale section in the usual way.
Keep an eye on GJC72 because if he decides to sell and you can land that one you'd be in for a very special Zed indeed.

Good Luck!

I may have to take you up on that MM!

Cheers Wyldie, I do check AT and PH regularly keeping an eye on the going rates, and already had a few test drives in both 3.0si's and M's (Coupes and Roadsters of each), so I'm fully aware of what I'm looking for - and like you said, the wait does seem longer but it's an evil necessity!

This thread is purely, as MM mentions, to get the feelers out there and be fresh in peoples minds if they do come to sell. Still in contact with GJC72 too, just don't want to put all my eggs in one basket

Either way, these replies are giving me exposure, so thanks haha! :D
