Fouled up service histories.

I might be a cynic but isn't it a bit too easy and convenient for garages to say "Oh sorry we did do the service but forgot to stamp the book. And yes, at the same time we forgot to reset the service interval. But don't worry we'll stamp the book and you'll be fine!" A quick retrospective stamp by the garage and their involvement/responsibility is wiped clean. Should we be more questioning and ask to see a copy of the work order or receipt?

If it's a dealership, then it should also be recorded on the computer system. If it's not then anyone can find out that a car has not had the prescribed servicing despite what the stamps in the book say.

Although when I bought mine, they were 'conveniently' changing over to a new computer system and all older records had been archived :headbang:

Did check later with BMW customer service and everything matched up. Unfortunately one of my missing stamps was from a dealership no longer in business, so I just wrote in the info I'd obtained from BMW CC.
