Bought my wife a 325 Coupe - lovely car BUT now been in 4 times with the EML light on and reduced power. Each time it's come back the guys have said it's 'fixed' - a few weeks later the same problem. Went on the E92 Forum and found that High Pressure Fuel Pump issues are a problem - took it in and told the technician and even gave him the part number. Car now running like a dream. Also gave them details of this Forum so now they can use both to assist in diagnosing these niggling problems 
What also came out of this is that the OBD fault codes are only an indication of a problem and not the absolute answer as the HPFP had caused issues with several other components which had created individual fault codes but were in fact OK once the HPFP had been replaced - aren't computers wonderful...
