I quite understand why we need to have them to keep this excellent forum funded and running, but tonight when I went onto the forum the first one I got was for the "New SL"! :rcard:

WTF I thought, we need to keep some sort of standard!

Has someone used your computer an looked at those , as the ads on mine seem to replicate other shops an items I've looked at

I tend to find that on other sites, but not usually on this forum. But nobody else ever has used my computer, and I certainly haven't been looking at SLs!

Last one I had was for Dainese leathers, and I haven't looked at the either - maybe it's a conspiracy to get me to go to the dark side with the car and get another motorbike! :!:

I get a lot of these coming up whilst on the Forum. Current most popular ar Car Gurus (after another Discovery) and garden sheds (which I'm also in the market for).

They certainly don't bother me. Not very intrusive and soemtime one does catch my eye and I click into their site.

I have never seen a pop up appear whilst on this forum. Is you r virus checker add ware blocker set up right? I use AVG and no problems on Chrome / Windows 7. :D

To be fair I don't find it a problem on this forum (unlike some others where the page loading speeds slow to less than a crawl) - my comment was more about what the advert was actually for!

(Just got Dainese 2016 range leathers again - keeps reminding me I miss my bikes). Still, no more SL nonsense

lol - not sure you should be admitting that, as a moderator  . The website owner wants/needs income from the ad revenue, so for the 'staff' to say they block the ads might not be taken too well (ask me how I know, moderator on another forum for many years...)
Having said that, as 'merely' a member here, I block the hell out of the ads

No pop-ups on the forum for me, using Firefox with a tick in the box on content preferences to block pop-ups.

As a mod I don't want to be distracted by pop-up ads... :P

Google Ads serves you targeted adverts based on your viewing habits. If you spend a lot of time browsing cars, it will serve ads related to the automotive industry in general- and so on. It finds all it needs to do that from your previous browsing history, unless you run something which blocks the Ad "cookies" or the adverts completely.

I don't get pop ups but I'm assuming we all get the banner ads? These appear to follow browser history too, although not always - here is my current ad :scratchhead:
