this is the problem i have! people say things are easy to do but honestly i have NO skills and no tools!

Glad you're starting to get it sorted mate, but this is the nature of the beast. You can't buy a 10 year old prestige car and expect it to give you no trouble at all. These things are far more complicated than something like a Corsa, which inevitably means more to go wrong. And if you're not willing to have a go at fixing simple things yourself, then be prepared to waste a lot of money on repairs. There's no skill involved in simple maintenance, all you need to do is buy a £15 tool set and follow an online guide which is what we all do.

If it makes you feel any better my Z4 is only 5 years old, and I've spent more time fixing it than I have driving it so far

well tbh ive not had too many issues like ive said its just been little annoying things! i do have a tool kit and in the past ive not been afraid to get a front bumper off and sort things out but with the Z its just extremely scary as i love the car to bits and the idea of starting something and then stuffing it up and breaking something is not what i want to do lol

Good news buddy i am glad your car is on the road to recovery. Hope you get lots and lots of trouble free motoring out of her now.

Out of interest what was the problem in the end with the wipers?

Cheers Monkey! ill have to come down and see you at some point! He confirmed that he striped the motor out and cleaned it but it was still not parking correctly, he has bought a new relay for £15 and fitted it which he said has fixed the issue!
