Forum ///M Register?

I don't know if this is a good idea or not, but on the face of it, it seems like it could be quite good.

I was thinking it would be a good idea for a register on here, for people to leave their registrations when they sell on their car. This way, people can find the history of the car easier which, as time goes on, becomes even more important.

For example, I could say about my old one:

CV06 VKW
Bought from member 'Playalistic'. Sold to member 'JHB205'. Sold with 59,000 miles, with an accurate service history... Etc

What do others think?

Could work well IK. Are there security issues? Probably not if the rest of the forum and post are anything to go by. Maybe there's a sticky thread with standardised info. How does the Alpina Register do it [Stu?]

The Alpina Register itself is fairly informal and relies on members updating a mod. It's more to track the cars' spec etc. If you look, you'll see a lot on the register showing for sale from years back. The forum is as friendly as this one though

Yeah, that's basically as I saw it. A sticky which a moderator/administrator updates, based on the posts from members.

It was exactly the 'security issue' question I was thinking of. Personally, I don't think there are any really, but it's worth thinking about.

It would just mean one single place for people to go so they know the history of a car.
