I'd acknowledge that theory, however I would add that to some degree you are buying from a known forum member and that in itself carries some weight.Nictrix said:Where I stand is that a car that has been on the forum for a few years, no matter how many owners, could be a good car as a lot of its history could be traced.
However just because a car is being sold on the forum by a forum member doesnt mean the cars history has been here for long. Like someone could have been a member for 10 years but is selling a car they have had for 6 months. This is not a forum car and shouldnt be recommended as such.
It does a little to certain people. Long term members can disappear overnight, there have been cases of members selling stuff that has caused problems, just because someone is a member doesnt mean they cant rip anybody off. Also someone new doesnt know anybody on a forum, just faceless names on the screen so have no real knowledge if someone is trustworthy or not.enuff_zed said:I'd acknowledge that theory, however I would add that to some degree you are buying from a known forum member and that in itself carries some weight.Nictrix said:Where I stand is that a car that has been on the forum for a few years, no matter how many owners, could be a good car as a lot of its history could be traced.

I resent that libellous insinuation! I prefer to think of myself as a criminal mastermindNictrix said:You could be the biggest crook in Attleborough (wherever that is) for all I know

A Z4m & 35is i bought off forum both stand out as being presented how i would myself , 2 Si roadsters also arrived in fair order & couldn't complain .
2 others were honestly described & priced accordingly so can't fault those which is roughly 50 -50

That's an interesting insight given how many you have had!
I would have thought a forum member was more likely to be an enthusiast so would have given their cars more TLC.
But it seems maybe not, although I'll admit to never having cleaned behind the seats. Another thing to add to the list!

Treated the leather on the seats front and back and cleaned the fabric behind the seats plus the windbreaker this very weekend actually. And the filler cap. And the engine bay. Christ, I feel I may need to join Detailers Anonymous![]()

Like yourself, you have been here for a few years like myself with a few thousand posts. You come across well but realistically I couldnt recommend to anybody that they should buy something from you as I do not actually know you. You could be the biggest crook in Attleborough (wherever that is) for all I know
