My mate is in the tt owners forum (TTOC) a forum very like ths one, when he joined he got a members card, badge for the car and a quarterly magazine. Membership is £30- could this be a direction for z4 forum??

Just for the record TTOC is run by tt-forum.co.uk. Membership of the club is not required for the forum so nobody is "required" to pay. I used to have a TT and their community is pretty good!

It is just another way of raising money to fund their community I think, as advertising brings in naff all to be honest, so hopefully it goes a little way toward their costs, which are probably more than you imagine.

I can't see us going that way though, I don't have the time to manage subscriptions as well as everything else I do.

There are so few of us that I doubt you would anyway, aside from the local ones that you know from meets etc anyway.

wouldnt a subtle badge/window sticker be a welcome way of spotting fellow forum members?
I'm involved with other forums that do this.
Usually it's a member in the business & he sells them at close to cost.

....Same idea as Rabman did with the T-shirts.

I wouldnt put stickers on my windows - they are small enough :)

number plates I would consider...

Number plates would be illegal in the UK :fuelfire:

How come garages do it then? You know put the dealer name in small at the bottom of them :?

Thed law changed fairly recently, now what most dealers do is put a small tab on the bottom of the rear plate with their name on, so technicaly it's not part of the number plate.

Now for an MOT it has to be the correct font, correct spacing, no extra images/names apart from a the Euro/GB at the end and a blue border and there's some tiny text in the corner showing it complies to the new standards. This is for cars from 2001 onwards.

No, the dealers are still allowed to put their info on the plate, as to comply with the new law the supplier's name & postcode must be written on it - whether it be BMW or Halfords. Not sure whether the roundel is strictly legal though, but my new plates from the dealer have it on.
