My girlfriend has a 57 plate Ford Ka, and recently the headlights have been playing up.
If you turn them on, after an unspecified time they will fade to nothing quite quickly. If you wait a few mins after turning the switch back to off, they will come back on and fade to nothing again.
After reading online I initially thought alternator but the car has been running fine for weeks with good battery charge and everything else is ok.
I have replaced the headlight stalk/switch assembly and it can't be the fuse. Its almost as if something is getting hot and tripping off?
Any ideas would be much appreciated as the evenings are darkening fast! Thanks.
