£19,000 at parkway! Wow , and I dare say it will sell. The can offer monthly paying so easier for buyers, not many have £16-£19k on the hip..

I'm sure it will.
Surely many people looking at one of these to buy will spot that the car was previously for sale privately for less?
Buyers can easily finance it @dealers but do people still like to throw money away on financing especially if they knew the car was for sale recently privately. Price premium+financing costs = wasted ££££ :).

Semi-serious - wish I had just upped my suggested price to £15k now as I doubt he got much more than that for it :). Would have costed me £650 ish to get it shipped to me though as had no plan to travel so far to test it or any other car.

The private market doesn't seem good for them though. What % are being sold to the trade I wonder?

Doesn't really matter to be honest because dealers are now paying a proper price to buy these from private sellers. 12 months ago they would've being paying £1.5-2k less to buy these in.

I spoke to a dealer last week when I went to look at a VX220. He said they don't bother with the Glass guide on cars like ours. Nice to see a sensible approach.

I would be surprised if he got more than 15 for this though (be nice to know) but that give the dealer 4k tops which sounds a lot but we all know the margins they work on.

All I'll say Hutch is you are bang on with Cap & Glasses going out of the window with our cars.

Anyone else been to Parkway? decent chaps to be fair, petrol heads like us who sell cars :)

They have some stunning cars for sale :o ....I would go back based on my experience.

The cars gone, but I'm staying, (joined the TT Club as well) made too many good friends, (You know who you are!), yes the cars are great & we love them, but it's the folks that make the forum what it is

I am from Mansfield originally but don't go back much now but was there last sat and I didn't actually know where parkway was but spotted it and said to my mrs what a fantastic range and quality of cars that they have so its good to know they are nice to deal with too.

A browse of their website is an enjoyable experience as well...if I had the money there would be so many motors I would love to buy off them.

You are right there Lee, the Z3M 'Bread Vans' they have for sale at the moment are worth the trip to view alone.

One is for sale for over £40,000!

Nice on Mark..

Good on you for holding out..

What's next?

A defection Gaz, based purely on having trashed knees...I've gone for something that provides a little more comfort, whilst retaining an adequate if not M rivalling level of performance...An Audi TT 3.2 V6 S-Tronic.
I am sure you will enjoy the TT  a friend of mine had the same model a few years ago and when I had a go in it I loved it and I was blown away by how quick it was off the line :driving:

We also put 68k miles in just over two years on a S-Tronic equipped TTS and it was a great car to live with so I wish you all the best with the one you have. :)

Ah but £650 includes the car being carried to me (not driven), fuel costs, insurance and an overnight stay for someone.

Missed out? Coupe is preference but Roadie if price right but always a shame if things go for a bit more than might be prepared to offer.

I think if people really want to try to sell to a forum member, if they get an offer from a dealer they should state in their ad thread to see if someone can out-do it :). Reckon we should make that a condition of advertising on the forums :P

Still tempted by the M3 at least to try for a year but dealer doesn't want to budge much and as expected - despite keeping the miles low on my current car (a rarity for me) the trade-in is still rubbish anyway

Ah....

Im not that strong to carry it..

That said,i can arrange lifted delivery all over the country...

Tbf many do offer their cars at trade in value , it would have been interesting though if OP had turned up with cash for the TT just what figure the M could have gone for on here

RE the car transport caper ? I have a contact for a decent chap who will collect on your chosen day in the AM & deliver PM on his lowloader fully insured (he collected a Z4 for me last Autumn 285miles away )
Pretty much anywhere in UK for under £250
