Hi all,

My husband and I have come to the (very sad) decision to sell our much loved 03 reg metallic black 3.0l z4 convertible due to needing something a bit more sensible with higher mpg.

Our loss is your gain though, as it is a really beautiful car which has recently just had the alloys completely refurbished and brand new rear springs fitted and has a year MOT and 1 months tax. It also has a red leather interior which looks great when the top is down! You can see a video of this (done not long after we bought it by a friend who runs a video company and wanted to do a topgear-esque film, this was done on old tyres and was actually driven slowly which was then speeded up, the car has never been driven particularly fast by us) here: http://www.vimeo.com/3427264, the full spec is below

03 plate (2003)
71,100 miles,
18" Split Rim Alloy Wheels (108 Style)
Red Oregon Leather (Red)
Reverse Parking Aid
BMW Professional Satellite Navigation
Professional 10 point surround Stereo (Carver)
Rear Wind Deflector
Cup Holders
Metallic Black Sapphire
Auto dimming rear view & wing mirrors
6 CD Changer
Heated seats
Headlight washers
Xenon head lights
Air Conditioning
Power Hood
Electric Memory Driver Seat
CD/Radio
Electric windows
sport mode
dual airbags
Trip computer
front fog lights
electric door mirrors
Immaculate alloys
black BMW badges all round
Black grill
2 keys
HPI Checked

High spec and excellent condition for year + drives beautifully. Now reduced to £6000

There is full service history for the car up until when we bought it (2008), and serviced ourselves with regular oil changes, air filter etc. The car has had 5 owners before us, and we have owned it for a lot of its mileage (from 47k) and has never had an issue. The only fault we can think of with the car is that sometimes the passenger door unlock when using the keyfob but this doesn't happen that often. There is also a slight bit of wear on the leather on the edge of the drivers seat, there is a photo of this below.

We bought this off a member of these forums so it would be great to see it go to someone else on here.We are based on the Devon / Dorset borders. This is also listed on ebay here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320937263416#ht_1213wt_1139

Ok, as promised here are some more photos of the car:

Interested in this. Have a few questions though
Have you kept all receipts from when you have done the servicing?
And what services have you carried out?
Has the booked been stamped in the past 30k?

Thanks, Christian

Hi Christian, we have a few receipts for oil and oil filters.

The services my husband did were: oil filter, oil change, plugs and resetting the onboard display. We think it says around 7000 miles until next service, but will check and get back to you. I'll check and let you know on the book as well.

Meant to say, this has an HPI check from when we bought it as well.

Hope that helps,

Laura

Thanks, when you check the service history can you please write in here what service it was ie oil/inspection1 etc and at what mileage.

Hi Christian, Just got the service book out and the last stamp was at 42,042 and was for an oil service.

HTH, Laura

That’s good value, cool vid by the way  Dvla database for Mots will confirm the mileage. Simply solution , even with lack of "stamped" service history. Normally 6k zeds are pushing well over 100k miles, along with a great spec cannot think it would be around that long at the price. Must be the sign of times at the moment in the market

Put it on ebay it should reach this and this and its only 15 quid for a classified ad/piston heads only 9.99 it’s a limited audience here

I would love this car but the service history is really putting me off. It hasn't (in my opinion) had a known service in 20 odd thousand miles. I understand a few oil services here and there but that's what I do to my vehicles every 5 k anyways. Gutted as its the exact spec I am after too. I would have absolute nightmares trying to shift it after I bought it and kept it for a while.

Hi Chris, thats a shame as it is a truly beautiful car. We are after a camper that will take our bikes so this can't really compete, but we are toying with the idea of keeping it as a second car.

I think if it had only had oil changes by you with a stamped Inspection 1/2 (whichever is missing) it would be easier to shift. Shame really as it looks a stunning car :( :driving:

Thanks ThePenguin, we may well go and get it stamped just for peace of mind. My husbands dad used to own and run a garage so he has generally always done services himself.

You can't just go and "get the book stamped". That's forging something which hasn't been done.

I think you misunderstood me there Chris, I meant get a service and stamp done by BMW for the 1/2 inspection now so there is a stamp for it in the book going forward. I can just see BMW putting it in reverse on ramps (like ferris bueller) so they can stamp it at 50k

That might not be a bad idea. I think if it shows all as good now, then the lack of previous history wont be so bad :)
