i dont want to wreck any potential sale so mods feel free to delete my comments if they are out of order but feel they it important for any new owner buying this car thrugh the 'safety' of an enthusiasts forum to have all the details. This ad appears to show a sundat, fair weather car, however it has been driven n track including the nurburgring.
My comments are NOT to imply there is anything wrong with the car but more to make a buyer aware of the cars usage. Tommo Two has looked after this car well and i am sure it is a good one but just felt it fair to mention.

I'm not hiding the fact that i have driven the car on the track, as any search on me would reveal all track posts and modifcations, i'm also not advertising the fact that its been driven on a track. So i would apreciate it if your comment is removed.

As a side note, when track driving, you are very aware of the sourounding and the fact that one slip up means your car is wrecked along with potentially some one elses, and with no insurance cover you tend not do drive the car on the limit of your own talent, bearing in mind i'm not a talented track driver and the car would be far more capeable in a proper drivers hands the level of stress that the car would go through in my hands is much less that the car is capeable of. More stress than average road driving though, but that can be mitigate by the fact i look after it better than an average road car, with special regards to more brake fluide and oils changes, as an example i'm on the third change of brake fluid this year.

I have been asked as a MOD to remove the two posts above.

However having read Paddy Wrights comment I think it has been made in good faith and as an advisory to any potential purchaser - it would have perhaps been better for Paddy Wright to have PMd Tommo Two first and invited him to make the comment himself but that is just a personal opinion. I have taken my own Zed has been taken Ring, as many others on here have, but thats not to say it's been thrashed or subject to abuse. Tommo Two's comment is an appropriate and fair response and does, I suggest, indicate that the vehicle has been well maintained relative to its use. However in any car purchase it is up to the buyer to satisfy themselves that the vehicle is a described and that the previous history and condition reflect the price paid in purchase.

I am happy to reconsider the cancellation request if others feel differently.

I think Paddy Wrights update is appropriate and should stay. I feel forum buyers should be entitled to know that weekend fair weather usage also includes being used for track days and it is fair to potential buyers that this has been raised on this thread.

I understand that it is for a buyer to satisfy themselves that a vehicle is as described, but it is also important for a seller to describe the car as accurately as possible, even more so when selling on a forum such as this. Of course track usage does not mean there will be issues with the vehicle (and this car does look like a very well maintained example), but it is an important part of a vehicles usage history and something I would like to know about when buying a car.

Although I support Paddy in striving to maintain the integrity of the forum I felt the disclosure was a bit unnecessary and tended to give a worse impression than was fair. The benefit of forum ad's is the ability to check out the sellers posts and it's reasonable to assume people will.Tommo hid nothing, he seems to have used his car for one practice track day and a trip to the ring, hardly a track hack. I never red-line my car, others probably do, habitually, should they disclose this in an advert?

Buyers should always ask direct questions, it's not rude but protects all parties, preferably in an email, e.g. Are you aware of any accident damage? Are you aware of it being used on the track? Are you aware of any faults? etc If sellers won't answer, walk, if you find out from BMW that the seller was getting quotes for a roof or whatever you have redress. Caveat Emptor

Good luck with the sale Tommo it looks like you have spent a bit keeping your car up together

I have had pm's form members in support of what I posted, however I will happily have my post removed or remove it myself as was never intended to offend or cast doubt on the provenance of he car, just to give potential buyers the full picture as to how the car has been used. Good luck with the sale of what is a lovely car.

No offence is taken, as said I'm not hiding anything it's done 4 laps of the ring over a course of about 3-4 hours, and one airfield track day. And maintained accordingly before and after the events. It's a sports car, u've got to drive it "sporty" once in a while :D

Even some of BMW's service bulletins say "Tell the customer to drive the car harder". I had this with my HVA issue. Wouldn't put me off, might do if it was regularly tracked, but as said there are many other factors to take into consideration.

Good luck with your sale
