FOR SALE ON EBAY: navigation screens

They vary so much. I have paid £79, £100 and £150 for these screens. I have had issues with all three screens (previous Z) but others have been fine with the ebay screens (srhutch for one).

I have only started looking recently, but the ones I had seen before were on sale for higher prices, hence jumping at this one. We'll see if it's any good.

Just need to find the head unit now. Again there is one for sale on ebay for an overinflated £299 buy it now - I think not.

Indeed not. I bought a couple at the time, think around the £75 mark.

Head units are like hens teeth to fins unless as you say they are around the £300 mark. Got mine for around the £100 mark from ebay but seller was a member on here getting rid of lots of stuff.

Paid £115 for my monitor from ebay (Greece) but as PVR says no problems.

Ok so I probably paid over the odds on the monitor then, but could be worse!

Mk4 unit was £225 so quite good compared to most I've seen.

I wonder why these parts tend to become available in other countries, or is that typical of parts in general?

And one quick question whilst you two gurus are here - are all GPS antennas pretty much the same with standard connections? Is this therefore suitable?

Thanks guys

No they're not all the same. You want one with SMB connector (if I remember correctly).
When I was doing the retrofit I too noticed a couple of guys in Poland who had a lot of BMW parts but I found the parts on eBay Germany to be the cheapest. I had to use an online translator to read the descriptions and for communication but I save a lot of money so it was worth the effort :) My guess is, stolen cars end up in Poland ;)

Cheers - not sure why I hadn't thought to look on the country specific ebay sites before as there are definitely more items available, including a couple of the head units that I'm after, but still quite pricey.

Like a lot of things it's a shame that the exchange rate seems to just be cancelling out any savings that you could have made a couple of years go.

And good point about the stolen cars!

Isn't the Euro-GBP exchange rate still very favorable to GBP? :)
This is the antenna (for an MK4 at least)

The connector is SMB female.

I paid around £12/14 for the antenna from a UK ebayer no need to source abroad on that one.

£225 is a good price for the DVD drive I got mine for £200 when all others were £300 plus.

Monitor and head units are the worst, when you get all the bits test before you install, just unplug the loom behind the left hand seat, plug in Nav loom and connect all items to it and swap the head unit only takes 30 mins but proves you have a working system.
