Selling my 3.0si :(

Managed to put off selling it for a year, but I need more seats for the kids. BOOOOOOO!!! HISSSSSSSS!

It has 112000 miles on the clock.
New tyres all round, (granted they are only budgets, but I don't do anything other than potter to work and back in it, with the occasional, enthusiastic motorway run) :P I actually have no issues with them, but the purists will scoff, thats for sure!

Pros:
Stratus Grey (Rare as hens teeth)
Sat Nav
All dents recently removed, so it is perfectly straight, with no annoying door/trolley dings
19" Black CSL Rep Wheels perfect condition, no curbing
CDV delete
Recently changed all transmission and engine oil.
New oil filters regularly
New rear springs at around 108'000 miles
MOT til July 17
0 advisories
I regularly work on my car and sort anything as it needs it
Lovely condition, both the Stratus Grey paint & the black leather interior
K&N Panel filter
Power flex RTAB
Engine is awesome! Solid & smooth
Have Machine Monkey Gear Knob and Handbrake that I will throw in, plus I have the original too

Cons:
Not much Service history (but I do all the basics regularly, not had enough spare cash since moving in with the GF and the kids)
Noise from the Alternator (works fine though)
Slight dullness in passenger side headlight. (no mist though, and can be buffed out)
I would recommend some new spark plugs soon.
Misted Passenger foglight (£90 eurocarparts)

I really don't want to get rid of this motor, as I trust it, love it and know how it has been looked after. It WILL put far younger ones to shame. I mean look at it! :( :( :( Upsets me immensely, to sell it!

I don't doubt you love your car and it is a good example but the phrase 'if you can be bothered' in relation to the light doesn't scream of a conscious and caring owner. Just a suggestion. GLWTS

I take it you have split and re-sealed a headlight before?

I have, and the effort involved, in relation to the aesthetical damage of the mentioned 'con' is not IMO worth doing until the summer.

My car is a daily driver, and that job requires 24hrs to be done. I have split my headlights and sprayed as well as hand painted them to colour match the paint theme of the car.

Flippant comments suggesting I do not care for my car are unwarranted and not very nice or helpful. The comment was meant, merely to suggest it is not necessary, or a pressing issue like the misting issue would be.

I would have expected more for a long serving member like yourself.

For anyone else looking at my advert to sell my car. Contrary to paddys comment, I DO care for my car!!

A lot!!!

I'm sorry you misunderstood my intentions- as I said I don't doubt your car is well cared for, I was just suggesting the phrasing may not help your ad for what is a well loved car. Apologies for the misunderstanding and GLWTS.

Its a 112k car thats been on the road 9 yrs , even the most neurotic owned car on low miles will have flaws whether minor or major .
Some cosmetic issues are to be expected by all but the most unrealistic of buyers . That's what a viewing / testdrive is all about .
I'm sure every single car on this forum can be pulled on something if you wanted to so wouldn't get twitched up mate
On the plus side for anyone who has never been up close or better still spent some time with stratus grey then be prepared  they are a fickle mistress :P i love parking up a blue car then returning to a grey one  or vice versa or catch it in sunlight or shade & there are tones of bronze & turqouise in there :? its a mesmerising paint shade that was originally a Z8 colour & i think is only found on some early 6 Series around 2004/ 2005
So very hard to capture in pics , viewing is the way

Shouldn't you be chopping wood mr wilks  I agree with you about the colour, been on many a hoons following Jan- Tekins ex roadster and I must say I loved the colour .

Viewing is welcome, and as Mr Wilks says, it is the only way. I would never buy any car without viewing or driving it for that matter. :)
:driving:

Have had a couple of private offers asking what is the minimum I will take, so I will re-price to reflect the minimum.

I was selling at £7650 with a service

Lowest I will go is £7395 without a service

Have someone viewing on wednesday next week, that is not from this site (that I know of) and I haven't offered the reduced price, but no doubt he will knock me down...

Would prefer it went to someone on here that will look after her :(

If bought before Christmas, I will take £6895 cash no offers.

If I don't sell it, I'll be keeping it permanently unless I get an offer around £7350.

Really is a lovely car, but has to go.
