FOR SALE, 2009 Z4.

Have mailed a few dealers, the price they giving me is ridiculous, looks like i might have to keep it

Might be worth putting what you realistically expect. £26k on Ebay seems a lot over the book value.

Not suprised delaer offers are unacceptable with it showing at around £20k trade and £21k P/Ex

Wow that is a hefty drop, no consolation I know but my SLK was no better, had a horrendous drop. Go and lease a Micra like I do, £120 a month now inclusing VAT, can't go wrong.

Nearly new is always a problem, as if the price is too close to new, people buy new. It has to be really worth it buying a second hand car.

I agree with PVR that there has to be a huge price drop in year 1. For the dealer to buy it, sort any minor issues, warrant it and put it in line to take sales from new purchases, it has to take that drop.

Without mileage adjustment (and yours is over by 3k for age) and using only base prices then Parkers has:

Original Price £28,650
Franchised Dealer £22,715
Independent Dealer £22,300
Private Good £21,475
Private Poor £19,000
Part Exchange £20,235

Add that you have 2 owners already so the buyer would be the 3rd and thinking the next buyer will be the 4th

Frankly it's painful but to get out of a car after year 1 and in the current climate is expensive. I'm sure your thinking to keep it is wise.
I see however that you've already dropped it by £1k on Ebay to £25k so good luck.

Would be a hard sell at that price, realistically I would buy a new car for abotu 3k more rather than this. so I would buy a runabout for the money u lose on this car to be honest. Good luck with the sale.

i've been looking at 23i's on autotrader as a possible next step from my z4 but it seems the few that are on the market are highly priced (relatively to the old z4 when i bought mine nearly new) and they are not selling. A few on autotrader have been advertised since the summer.

Bummer whufc, nice car tho, if you have to keep a car then its a fun car to keep. Tricky with a family tho. And what about West Ham. Its god-damn-awful. If only we had another couple of points Liverpool would be bottom - there that'll cheer you up :D

the orignal price with the options was something like £37000

Then the sticker shock must be even worse as the extras make the car highly desirable and a little easier to sell, but they are worth but a fraction of cost price.

Shame I'm not in the market as it's an example I really like

Not that it's any consolation but I purchased a Ford Explorer many years ago. Cost me £28,500 and I traded it in for £9,000 just around 18 months later. Heavy fule, crash scares and litigation over tyres made it unsaleable and so I lost my shirt

Bite their hand off at that price IMO. You'd be lucky to see 20k on a private sale right now.

Been offered 23500 from a audi dealer, so might have to bite the bullet and part ex it in,

Certainly better than the offers you impled you were getting from BMW. I think you just need to look at the price to exchange and it they are loading the sale price so the trade-in looks good.

Price to change is the figure I always look at.
