Looks great.

If it had sports seats then I would be on the phone.

My back does not agree with other variants for some reason.

So wee update.

Car was serviced last Friday 8th of November and has just been MOT'd today. They did list the rear tyres as getting low but not a failure. Will adjust the price to suit.

Car now has 54,500 miles on it.

So now for sale at £7800. 13/11

How many people have came to view the car since you've advertised it?

It was on AutoTrader a long time back before you advertised here.

You've got the 3.0 engine which is highly desirable, but most people want M Sport models with heated sport seats. Your car is lacking key options.

People don't want to be buying a car that needs new tyres unless the seller makes it worth their while.

CAP values your car at £6200-6650.

Tyres are consumables and wouldn't put me off the right car - I changed all of mine off run flats anyway as soon as I got the car. Anyway OP did already say that would make an allowance for.

Think lack of sale is just down to it being a buyer's market with lots of choice plus slow cars sales in general especially with 2 seaters being a luxury item.

Would probably need to advertise in multiple places as hits on here for anyone wanting a Z4 are going to be few and far between despite it being a dedicated forum for the car. There will be a wider audience going back to Auto Trader and greater still eBay which is at least much cheaper for a classified ad though obviously you then need to cater for time wasters - but at the end of the day, you only need one interested party.

Wouldn't lower the asking price that much either going on the ads currently in Auto Trader. Whatever you put it up for someone is always going to try to beat you down so allow yourself a margin to be flexible in terms of offers.

All imho.

Any advice from the folks on here regarding why this isn't selling?

Time of year? Price?

Any and all comments welcome

All IMO

Location, many people don’t want too/won’t travel to Scotland for a car, two reasons, the time/distance/cost. Also the perception that EVERY car in Scotland has lived under the sea and will be rusty everywhere. This is one problem you can’t really do anything about.

I bought my first Z4 from a forum member on 14/12 in Devon so Argyll to Devon wasn’t just round the corner, 2nd one Birmingham so I’m happy to travel at any time of year for the right car.

This is NOT slating your car but you’ve asked. For me, no heated seats would be an automatic no as I use mine all year round, sports seats would likely matter too, no parking sensors, no iDrive and I think the basic stereo. All would possibly make me look elsewhere. The tyres as mentioned will put some people off. If me I would bite the bullet and replace with branded tyres and have much less wiggle room in the ask to accepted price. Folk generally don’t like buying something that they then have to immediately spend money on, particularly if getting the green light from their OH. I’d be on black circles and seeing what’s the best Black Friday deal and heading to Silverburn for drive in/out fitting.

The one thing really going for yours is if someone desperate for a 30i as there’s not a huge choice, but a lot of buyers, particularly forum ones are looking for the toys.

Have you thought about also advertising on the Roadster.org forum? A lot of members there are Z3 owners but given age of both cars and owners a lot are starting to move up to Z4’s

Z4 market, along with everything else is generally on its @rse too so that’s not helpful either.

If I was in the market for an E89 and I wanted a 3.0i, not having the heated sport seats would not put me of as it is much easier to swap seats than engines. And it is a good price. At my wife's car's MOT last week they said the tyres were low at 2.6mm. Crazy.

As others have said it is a hard market and values have dipped. I personally don’t think the non heated seats are an issue. As others have said replacing the tyres would help.

Looks good in the pictures, miles are good as well , silver is a good colour and the red leather looks good as well.
Perhaps your location might be putting customers off.Maybe the market near you has fewer buyers ?

When I was searching I started out only willing to travel 100 miles, in the end I had to go further to find the right car. I missed a couple of local cars £3.0 E89 by not viewing fast enough. On general specs your car might be missing some options some buyers see as must haves.
There is a dealer who was having trouble selling a very clean low miles car but very low on options.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply, much appreciated.

Think I will get the tyres done and drop the price a bit more and also put it on eBay.

Problem is now I have seen something I want but need to shift this first😀

Personally, I don’t think dropping the price is the way to go. It’s where, when and how you advertise it. That’s already very cheap for a car with that low mileage, IMO.

Firstly, advertising it on here is nigh on hopeless! People here, by definition, either already have a Z4 or few of them will want another addition. Secondly and not unique to this forum but also other ‘specialist’ marque and model forums, is something that I’ve never really understood. It is that you get members essentially talking down the values of their own cars! You’ll just get talked down by people who have no intention of buying your car anyway.

I’ve just bought another Z4 (E89 35i) for a LOT MORE than your car. And, not through anything to do with this forum. But, me doing that at this time of year is against the norm and I did because I specifically knew the car would be worth even more come better weather.

Finally, the weeks before Xmas are very bad times to be trying to sell any car privately, let alone a two-seater convertible sports-car. Fair weather motoring is the LAST thing on people’s minds!

Ebay PLUS another recognised site are the way to go, at the right time of year (i.e Springtime). Ebay if only for the amount of footfall/exposure that you get for very little cost. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll sell it through there but people will then also look for it on the other common sites.

Don’t get despondent or panicked.
