For Sale - 2005 E85 2.2 Roadster Maldives blue

Decided to sell my car as I am looking to take part in Sprint and Hill climb racing and I don't want to run it and ruin it.

Colour - Maldives Blue - a few stone chips as to be expected at this age but no rust!

Roof - Black no rips with the motor relocated to the boot so no more rust issues :D

Engine - 2.2 Straight 6 - Serviced about 1500 miles ago including new plugs. Vanos seals done last year by myself and DISA confirmed as in good order (cleaned the throttle body at the same time).

Has some service history main dealer and independent - it runs as sweet as a nut
Mileage - 79000 ish (its my daily driver but I only live 4 miles from work)

It had new discs pads and calipers at the front plus lollipops the year before last plus a full brake service (done by me). Also had the diff and gearbox oil replaced this year by a local BMW specialist and it had full brake fluid change last week at the same place.

Fitted the all important stubby antenna :D

Wheels - 18 Inch refurbished staggered MV2's (brought from Mr Wilks) with Vredstein Ultrac Sessanta rubber. No scuffs at all and lots of tread left.

Interior - Retrofitted Black leather manual seats - light scuffing on drivers bolster but no damage. Also got Machine Monkey aluminium handbrake, gear lever and radio knob (I have the originals if you wants to put them back). Will come with a CD changer - not yet fitted and wiring loom for fitting cruise control (no switch).
Aftermarket wind deflector fitted that works really well.

Just had it re coded at ZedFest so the roof will go up as well as down on the remote and you can close the windows with the ignition key removed. Alarm also now gives audible beep when armed.

Not been smoked in as far as I know (certainly not in the last 3 years)

This has been my daily driver since I got it and has been ultra reliable. Currently returning 29 mpg on my daily commute (10 mins either way)

I can let you have more pictures if required.

Looking for £3500 but its got to be gone by Wed 27/09/17 when I part ex it

I am in Doncaster

Thanks
Chris

Nice looking car OP

The 2.2 never had the same following that the 2.5 & 3.0 had which is maybe why you have had little interest.

But it is still a straight 6 and has a few nice bits on it so if priced right it should sell eventually.

Its also the wrong time of year to sell a convertible really so if you want a quick sale you maye have to further drop the price a bit.

GLWTS

Thanks for the comments.
Its a good car TBH and being a straight six is smoooooooth and makes a lovely howl when you rev it :)

I don't want to give it away but realise that its the wrong time of the year to be selling really so I am open to reasonable offers

Remember this is just one avenue when selling your car, with a limited amount of people who may want a car at the time you are selling.

Nothing to do with the car as it looks fab, clearly been cared for, and has some great extras. I use e-bay as a kind of shop window and try and sell before the end of the auction - if it doesn't sell I take it off. Auto trader is another good one as well. Both will cost you more than putting it on here of course, but will get you a much larger audience, most of whom will be less informed than people on here, so the 2.2 will not be a negative.

Doing it that way means you have tried the cheapest ways first, getting progressively more costly as you move on to the next method, so you hope it sells early in the process!

However, you can pick up good 2.5's for the money you are asking.

Well the car has to go one way or the other and so I have decided to part ex it with a dealer. They are of course pulling my pants down so here the deal.

Nearest offer to £4000 will be considered if anyone is interested as on Friday I go to sign up for the new car.

I've really enjoyed owning it over the last 3 years but its time for us to part company.
I am going back to a "sensible" car in the shape of a Leon FR but will miss the wind in my hair motoring (not that I have any hair you understand) :D

Thanks

Chris

Still no interest then :D

£3500 is as low as I will go and its got to be gone by Wed when I go to pick up my new car

What is the part EX price mate, maybe best to be honest and tell people and see if anyone can beat it.

or put a classified ad on eBay and you should be able to shift it quickly.

I got offered £3700 for my 2006 3.0si against a newer z4 :(
It's tough out there!

That's my thought on it Rob,

Trying to help the OP out as anything extra than the Part Ex price is better than taking a part Ex on it.

That was an ouch Part-Ex price for your 3.0, 2006, Si Smartbear..
Almost brings tears to your eyes, I'm sure..

If that was the case for your later model, 3.0 Si, then I'd already suspected the dealer figure for this 2.2 Se will be circa £3,000..

Best of luck with the sale though OP

What are you hoping to run in the hill climb? I was at Loton this past weekend, considering entering a few sprints and hills with a mk3 focus RS in the notts sports car club championship next year!

on topic, is your z4 manual or auto?
