FOR SALE - 2004 Z4 3.0 - With Pics, Reduced AGAIN!

Less miles and £800 cheaper. Distance is no object. You don't buy a car every day.

£650 actually :poke: and one of those has a beige/wood interior which would put many off.

Prices vary greatly for these cars, at the end of the day great if you guys can do a deal, but you need to see all cars first hand to really value their worth

To be honest I don't quite understand the valuation of a car remotely ... No two cars are the same and condition could add / subtract thousands from a car.

*edit* - it is only 20 miles away !! No way I would not at least look at it.

This is a bookmark for when I'm not at work

Unfortunately my sister-in-law has just gone into labour in Leicestershire, so I'm unlikely to be able to get up this weekend. If you still have it next weekend I'm a serious buyer with cash waiting.

Best of luck with the sale anyway.

my sentiments exactly!
This is a genuine sale from a genuine car lover - I'm not overly interested in excessive quibbling or comparisons to cars I've never seen before. I need to get another car and before I part ex this one I thought I'd try the forum I bought the zed from to see if it can find a good home.
I've enjoyed it and it's time to move on - if someone wants to take a good deal then all the better

I hear you leepar, if somebody come to me and says they can find one cheaper than mine, I will tell them to go any buy it then. If they still try and beat me down it means my car has something the other one hasn't. Which is probably why it's up for more in the first place.

I'm not here to barter and beg.
Simply to research my next purchase and hopefully meet some nice, decent folks along the way.
Whilst it's clear your car for sale is a nice example and clearly in excellent condition, as stated from the outset, I am looking for a much lower mileage example (and prefer an auto).
I simply expressed an interest as it was so close to home. If the other chap buys it next weekend, great. I'll be more than happy for the both of you.
However, when making comparisons based on your statements, with autotrader examples I've found, it's a little off-putting to be almost flamed by other members. Maybe your car is better than the others for sale, or vice-versa!
In fact, I haven't yet made you an offer, ever. So, I'm not beating anyones price down.

im333 I'm not flaming anyone, just suggesting that the three cars are all different and therefore have different values as a result. Until you have actually seen the cars in the metal you don't know what the condition of them is really like. That goes for mine to which is why if anybody is interested in it I would highly recommend they have a look before comparing it to any other.

im333.....

When i was looking for mine, i shopped around and saw the lowest priced ones around. They were dog-eared, tired and none had FSH...

I ended up buying an AUC 3.0i, which has given me no major problems over the 15k I have drove it. I went £1k over budget..

I am glad i saw the cars in the flesh, and like some of the seasoned vets on here say. You have to judge each car on its own merits...

I can categorically state that the car for sale in this thread is bargain. Good luck with your search..

Fair point. My current BMW was also an auc and as such I paid about 1k more as you'd expect but got the peace of mind that comes with it. Like you, I'm not looking for simply the cheapest. Prices for droptops start to decline as summer ends; I'm in no rush to buy. I prefer to buy outright for cash so waiting a while ensures more capital to spend!

Interesting to see a car that is advertised at a good price and after 5 or 6 weeks on sale (based on this thread) no takers.
Would make me question why not sold?

Location may limit the audience being so far north as travel only to risk finding it's not what was expected can put people off, but you can't do much about that.

My suggestion would be to change the advert wording on AT to make it look more attractive.
Starting with 68,000 miles is not good (unless AT forces that layout). That's a negative
It's Sterling Grey not metrallic grey so be correct
Mention some of the extras such as sought after 108's and 18" wheels
If it has a BMWSH state when last serviced and how many miles to next
It's a list of 'no' statements - no canvassers and generic comments about 'genuine reason for sale' don't inspire.

Photos as shown are not good either. A Zed is part lifestyle. Go to the local park or country lane and get some decent shots not under storm clouds on the drive or bumped up on the kerb. Add an interior shot or 2

I'm sure the car will then sell itself much better.

cj10jeeper, have you been rechristened the Gok Wan of the Z4 world :)

Sometimes I wonder if selling posts should be locked once the original post has been made, purely to avoid crap chat and bickering that seems to happen. If someone wants to make an offer they can contact via PM or the like.

Works in other forums I've used.

a11y I completely agree. I did try and PM im333 but the mail was stuck in my outbox so I posted a thread.
Suppose all I can add is good luck in your search for an auto coup im333

I did log on now with the hope that 35 posts meant some interest in the car - unfortunately not!

cj10, Cheers for the advice re advert but wrt pics I work away an awful lot and have a 15wk old son at home. I'll try and get out this weekend to get some better pics - you may have a point about the wording though!

funnily enough I've just been to the local BMW dealer to test drive another 335D and the couple in front of me were buying a 55 plate, 39k, 2.5 zed with 17" wheels, silver with black roof and no cruise/electric seats for £12990!!!!!!

I would not worry unduly about chat on threads so long as it's not personal or insulting, nor overtly negative to the seller, product, etc, etc. as it keeps the thread alive and topical.

I really think this is a vey good value example of the 3.0 and should sell once people see it.

Of course your situation is the reason so many have to trade, but see the value of their car lost against the diminished discount of not trading in.

Looks like a good price to me, I paid just under £13K from the main dealers for an 05 3.0 SE manual with 54K on (and a good spec including the important heated seats). This makes mine look like daylight robbery!

Of course I had a Mondeo to part ex that I didn't fancy selling privately...
