For lowered zeds

Hi,

I lowered my Zed with coilovers but now in bumps and in turns tyres are rubbing with the fender liner and breaking this in the bumper side. Any solutions for this?

Generally if your going fairly low on the front with 225/40 fronts you will have issues.
You'll need 215/35 tyres to have no catching issues

Interesting thing, now i have 225/40 in fronts.

If i mount 215/35, i will solve the problem?

The problem is you're too low on the coilovers. As said above, raise them and the problem should disappear.

I wouldn't go 215/35 personally. The ride is bad enough on the 40 profiles.

I have a dilema...

- I like so much the current height

- In my city, it's not compatible 215/35 with my car

:?

The front corners where it rubs is so common and isn't an issue. Happens regardless of how much or little it's lowered.

It happens because BMW couldn't be bothered folding the arch enough.

Don't stress and enjoy driving and be glad that's you're only issue.

If you're breaking bumper clips then get a tad more camber up front.
Also note that raising up a small amount can make a massive difference.

I have 215s on mine even when just lowrred with springs. Plenty comfy enough even compared to run flats. It's not a compromise at all IMO

It is a compromise though, as you're losing 10mm on the tyre width aswell as having a smaller profile.

Can't say I notice it as a compromise, it's not made the front any worse Infact it's comfier than the 225 runflats. 215 vreds are still really good. Even when on a proper drive out with other z's I wouldn't say I struggle any worse than people running standard sizes.

I seen a post the other day about a guy heating his arch trims up and moulding them further up for better clearance you could try that.
